Your review is not benchmarked against other colleagues of your tenure, it is benchmarked to the key expectations of the role. Employer does provide opportunities. Every project you will have ownership over something, whether it is a portion of a workstream or whole workstream. Your work is very visible. Headcount is also quite small which means you tend to work with a lot of people and many different project leaders. That generally means your overall review would be quite accurate because it is formed from several people's opinions.
