I could be doing many different things from research, expert interviews, slide-making, excel modelling. There are also project-admin tasks which are often tasked to the most junior members. An analyst (grad role) will get tasked with either a portion or a whole workstream in a project. Either way you will have ownership of your work. Clients will see the slides you make. I feel challenged in the tasks I do and don't think I just get told to do things and can easily execute. You definitely learn a lot from doing things and also learn new content. Since we are TMT-focused you expand your TMT knowledge as time goes by. Other non-project tasks could be attending recruitment events for uni students or taking part in planning social events or being part of the women's committee. There is also business development (BD) where you help develop proposals, surveys etc.
Conducting impactful analysis helping drive key deliverables (either assisting with models or slides), plus taking notes on important meetings, assisting with expert interviews.
Conducting primary and secondary research (market interviews, desk research) - Analysis (modelling, benchmarking) - Synthesis (putting info on A deck) - Quality control (ensuring deliverables are free from errors)
