I have had the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners and have been involved in many different facets of life as a lawyer. There is a constant flow of development activities, feedback and mentoring from the firm/team.
Training and development opportunities vary depending on the team, but overall, there’s a strong culture of support and learning. As a junior associate, i’ve had access to structured programs like the asia pacific junior associate course (apjac), which includes sessions on commercial awareness, client service, contract drafting, and career development. There are also practice-specific training modules — for example, in dispute resolution, iptech, and costs budgeting — that help build technical skills relevant to your area of work. mentoring and coaching are also part of the experience, with regular feedback from supervisors and opportunities to connect with senior lawyers. Whether through live sessions, recorded modules, or informal guidance, the firm provides solid resources to help you grow professionally.
The graduates all attend a two-day intensive training program in sydney. The graduates also attend regular lunch-time training sessions.
There is lots of on-the-job training, as well as training programs for every level of employee, senior employees are generally very willing to offer support as well.
