The pay is fair for an entry level position in Government. I would like more guidance on the benefits. It has been up to me to search for my benefits and actively ask about them. I would love if we received a PDF or document package with all applicable benefits listed and linked, encouraging us to make the most of these; even to the extent of recommending health insurance providers that give discounts to public servants for example. I have also been told about salary sacrificing options, but not how to do this or who to talk to about this. I have heard there are many benefits to being a public servant but don't always know where to look for these. These benefits are crucial in staff retention and employer attractiveness as Government usually is not as competitive with wages. (I know of others in Graduate Programs for the Private Sector who are earning > 1.4x my wage). I believe the more these benefits are promoted, the more likely Graduates (and all employees) will feel appreciated and excited to be a public servant and possibly be less inclined to look elsewhere for a pay-raise.
Could have been improved, as the private firms are offering much higher salary package.
I am very satisfied.
The Pay is barely keeping up with the cost of living crisis. However, the job does offer a decent work life balance and flexibility.
I think it is below market average, given the work experience and certifications completed.
