DISR is a Government department that has major focuses on building diversity. As a female with a CALD background, I've not felt like a minority.
DISR's diversity initiatives are run off the back of the tireless efforts of volunteers who are in the Inclusion Networks. They are rarely recognised for their work, almost never given adequate time for the extra roles they take on, and constantly fight uphill battles with the inclusion team to have things run by people who are paid for that work. DISR takes advantage of marginalised communities.
As a whole there are more women than men in the APS which has been a slow shift. plenty of different leave types available. DISR has its own groups for diversity and gender you can join.
They have many diverse networks and reconciliation action plans, they also admit diversity remains a problem.
