I have chosen the morning shift; I start at 7AM but still finish at 4PM. If I end up being late, I can simply let my manager or team leader know through sending a message and go about my day. Overall, I may be at the office for 9 hours, but I am only expected to work for 7.6 of those hours as the rest is reserved for breaks and lunch.
I am thoroughly enjoying the hours that I spend working. The team leaders of the HMC are easy going and ensure that the working hours are flexible to suit our needs.
In the HMC, there are 3 shifts (morning, evening, nights) as they operate 24/7. They are quite flexible around uni or what shifts you want to do but the hours are set. It is also expected you do those hours 5 days a week BUT you can do it in different arrangements of shifts (Morning/Evening etc)
Shifts are broken up into 3 nine-hour blocks, morning, afternoon and night (with overlap). In your interview you get the chance to display a preference for one of the time slots (although night is usually reserved for those with a few months on the job experience). HMC is in the office 5 days a week (which will likely include a weekend). Work from home is not possible in this area of the business.
The company is very flexible, as long as you complete your allocated hours.
