We get petty cash for certain items including beer's on Friday.
I think my pay is reflective of an entry role and I am currently happy with where I have landed. The company has a commitment to internal promotion so there is opportunity to continually receive and an above standard raise (if you're willing to work for the outcome). However, my company does pay lower than the standard construction company, there are additional benefits including internal social events, dinners and event with clients and you can be provided with a vehicle after reaching "Project Engineer". There is also a focus on training, in which lunch or refreshments are common.
Winslow may not provide the most generous pay when looking at a surface level comparison. However Winslow does provide the opportunity to grow and transition through roles (and subsequently pay) far quicker than many other companies that would have you in the same role for extended periods of time.
The pay is very reasonable for an entry level role and includes a company car with a petrol card which is a great benefit.
Working as a casual undergraduate engineer, I am paid casually for the days that I work around my studies. I am paid an hourly wage, and the pay is good. I am able to learn in an industry that I would like to have a career in, whilst earning money, gaining experience and finishing my studies.
