Rcp has implemented its own internal university, which is pretty much the go-to hub for learning and development. It started out as rcp learning, but over time it’s grown into a full platform that supports professional growth for everyone, no matter their role. The idea is to have one place where you can find everything you need for training, mentoring, and career development. There’s a lot on offer - on-demand learning modules you can dive into anytime, weekly training sessions (like the friday 11:00–12:00 slot), and specialized programs for things like mentoring, performance reviews, and career pathways. It also includes skill frameworks that line up with the project lifecycle, covering essentials like project management, leadership, it tools like power bi and sharepoint, and even cultural competency through te ao māori workshops.
I have not yet had the chance to experience many trainings. We have a training once a month that covers technical theory for substations and the grid which i find very interesting. I have also acquired a white card for working on site.
Training has been pretty good, i have no complaints. Performance reviews are a priority here and we are due to begin a mentorship program in the second rotation of the graduate program. My colleagues and leader have been very willing to share their knowledge and guide my learning.
