My manager provides opportunities to fulfil my career aspirations as they are open to hearing what you want and supporting you on your journey to achieving. As a grad, I am learning from many different project managers in my team so I am able to learn from many different perspectives. this could possibly help with future promotions as you can build a strong foundation like this. However, this is all dependent on self-drive and motivation.
The graduate program is 18 Months. At the end of the program, a conversation will be held to find a role within the organisation that fits your skills and interests. There are opportunities to upskill as Auckland Transport provides opportunities for development. At the beginning of each financial year, your managers will sit with you to define your goals for the year and help you map out how to achieve it. This will be reviewed halfway through the year and at the end. This is a great way to set and achieve career goals.
If you are wanting to be at AT long-term, they will definitely accommodate this. We have jobs secured once we exit the graduate program and there are procedures in place to make sure we keep progressing. Once you find what you like there is plenty of opportunity to move up the ranks.
Wanting you to excel and succeed within the organisation. Lots of opportunities!
