There are opportunities to talk with your team leader about career goals and next steps to move up the ranks.
At a junior level, promotions are generally more time-based than skill-based - it is expected you are promoted after c. 1 year. While performance does feed into this, most people progress in a linear manner to start.
Yearly review periods with structured professional development and career opportunities. More experienced employees welcome feedback and are open to provide career advice.
The standard promotions are made clear from the beginning and other avenues are on offer if they align with your career aspirations. Making the expectations clear from the beginning means the you know what you need to achieve to move to where you want to be.
I think it takes quite long to move up the ranks, I have heard it can be quicker to leave and come back and apply for that next role up rather than waiting to gradually move up. There are several trainings and conversations that happen about career progression and setting us up with what we need to know and helping us think about what direction we might want to head in / the various opportunities available. There is a wide set of people that you can talk to and you are bound to find the ones that spark your interest and want to provide additional support.
