Fisher & Paykel has a long history of hiring engineering & science grads & interns, providing them with real-world experience and career development.
The work life balance is very good, I can show up and leave more or less when I want as long as I do my 8 hours a day, and can even rearrange hours and leave at lunchtime on a Friday if I stay a little longer on another day. My role doesn't allow for much remote work by the nature of the work I'm doing, and the product development department is encouraged to work in person whenever possible, but a lot of other departments regularly work from home.
It does vary manager to manager, but my manager (like many) is very flexible with when I show up to work (as long as I get the work done) and working from home. The company discourages WFH for product development (engineering) but if you've got a reason it's completely fine.
Relatively flexible work hours, aside from attending meetings, remote work available if needed.
Remote work is not offered as a standard method of work and there are only a few cases of it happening. There is some variation from team to team, but in my case my Leader does a great job at balancing being flexible while keeping accountability. This means I can start early/ late, and as long as I am able to achieve 40h a week, and get my tasks done there is no problem.
