At current economics condition, promotion or job opportunities are extremely limited. It comes down to the right place, right time and lots of patience. Also, it depends on the circumstances or situation of human needed from the work place

At Foodstuffs, they really encourage to reflect and think about your career goals. My team lead and manager also supportive on what I want to do professionally and how I can grow. As a category assistant, you could step into the role of an assistant category manager once you have shown your managers you are capable of doing so and that you are fit for the role. After that there is also the potential to become category manager if you wanted to. Foodstuffs also encourage internal development as in there are opportunities for you to take another job in another department if you wanted to.

In my role there aren't great opportunities for progression, the next step up is managing. But my boss is very supportive of helping me look for a job within the next year or two within the co-op that has further progression opportunities.

Def, I can most def fulfill my career aspirations at foodies, there is a lot of places to grow and move around in the company. My manager is constantly talking about how to grow.

Promotion opportunities exist within the company, especially in our linear team structure. As a Coordinator, there’s a clear pathway to grow into a Planner role over time. Progression seems to depend on gaining experience, demonstrating initiative, and building strong working relationships. The company does offer opportunities to support career aspirations, though it’s important to be proactive—seeking feedback, expressing interest in development, and taking on responsibilities that align with future roles
