As a Category Assistant the tasks are very administrative based, so it does feel a bit repetitive at times. However, in saying that I think it is a good first full-time role to have when you are just entering the workforce as it allows you to understand how everything works without having any heavy responsibilities. Day-to-day tasks would be answering any store enquires, assisting your category manager with anything they need, creating NPDS, answering supplier enquires, communicating with relevant stakeholders in the business, mailing proofing, handling promos. The duties and tasks that a CA does is very tedious so it can get a bit stressful at times especially when you are new and still learning everything, but once you understand and get the hang of everything it is fine.
Every job is slightly different. It is cool and scary seeing how my work effects other things. I like the fact that I have responsibility with big things, but it is also scary cause you can quite easily make a 4-million-dollar mistake. We resolve tickets so jobs come in and change day to day, this gives a nice variety of work tasks and keeps things interesting.
My day to day roles include talking to supplier, setting and moving promos around, creating and organizing npd.
As a Media Co-ordinator, my role involves supporting the planning, execution, and monitoring of media campaigns. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with internal teams and external partners, managing timelines, preparing reports, and ensuring media assets are delivered accurately and on time. I also assist with campaign tracking and performance analysis, helping to optimise future media strategies. The role requires strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple projects efficiently
