Everyone is friendly, patient and considerate
Staff friendly and helpful, welcoming environment, fairly open management very approachable and happy to ask questions. Very easy to ask questions of other staff. Fairly casual office culture and environment
There's different groups to support the people in the company, including but not limited to, rainbow network, Asian network, young professionals, etc. Events will be arranged during or after office hrs, for networking and bonding. Seniors are really willing to help and pass on their experience and knowledge on not just work but also life suggestions. Which as a young professional that just came into the industry founds really warm and helpful.
Workplace culture is great during work hours, with lots of socialising/cooperation between the teams and of all levels. However no outside of work hour events are done.
As a large cooperation, there is a standard business unit hierarchy structure at KiwiRail. Generally speaking people cooperate and have great teamwork. We have large graduate cohorts and a young professionals network where we are able to get to work together and socialise. An example is coffee roulette organised by our youth network where I got to meet 2 new young professionals for a coffee.
