The programmes have been both enjoyable and useful, just know it is only for 3 or so years.
I have had plentiful training across the 3 years on the grad programme. This included many courses in Auckland learning about leadership, along with how to present with impact. Both courses I found to be very valuable.
Throughout the 3-year graduate program at Mainfreight, you undergo a series of training sessions including, knowledge of the company, teamwork/involvement, public speaking and freight knowledge (dg certifications and forklift operation). To think what I have learnt in the last 3 years is mind blowing. Not only learning about myself and my capabilities but also the key knowledge that goes into ensure freight can be moved safely and efficiently. General etiquette in a business environment and how to professional communicate with customers are two skills that really stand out. As mentioned previously, young team members/graduates are assigned to groups with mentors in order to assist building relationships within the team and offering an approachable space to raise concerns.
Being apart of the Mainfreight Development Programme has really given me access to upskilling courses I have really benefited from in terms of presenting, public speaking and networking
There are many graduate courses we are scheduled on and also further training in specialised areas available.
