We are a small, central agency in the public service responsible for lifting the quality of regulation. Better regulation - better outcomes.

Compared to larger agencies, MfR has an open environment that constantly encourages your learning - I've never felt like a question is too silly to ask, and everyone, all the way up to the Chief Executive, is approachable. As the Ministry works on one floor, it's easy to get familiarised with names and faces, as well as strike up some friendly conversation. There are programmes, workshops, and reading groups that allow you to meet more people in the office with intention, and we'll all collectively celebrate the occasional holiday with a shared feed. People will also send out invites open to those who are keen to socialise out of the office, and there is a public service network that helps connect us to graduates at other agencies.
Everyone is friendly, and I feel comfortable going up to anyone. Comparably MfR is quite small compared to some other government agencies, so you do feel less of a seperation as you are all on one floor most of the time.
