We are a small, central agency in the public service responsible for lifting the quality of regulation. Better regulation - better outcomes.
The Ministry for Regulation (MfR) interview process consisted of an initial application, a one-way video interview, a series of online assessments, and a final panel interview. During the initial application, we submitted a CV, cover letter, and example of our writing. It was during this stage that we got to input our preferences for what teams we'd want to work for. As someone who wasn't too familiar with the function of different teams within a public service agency, I think MfR was really good in describing these differences and helping me make this decision. Although a bit nerve-wracking, the one-way video interview and online assessments were both very easy to access and user-friendly. The final panel interview was conducted over teams and it was also a really seamless process. The Ministry did a great job of keeping me informed throughout these stages and gave me ample time to complete these different tasks. I was actually overseas at the time, but MfR made sure to accommodate for things like the time difference, and showed real care when going through the tricky process of giving me a call internationally!
Psychometric testing, you get to play a maths game as part of this. Don't stress too much about your score in this. I had a video interview with 3 people in the team that I applied for which was well run, the panel was very interested in hearing about my background and what I'd like to look for in a graduate position. I had a phone call 3 days after my interview which let me know the outcome. From past experience in the graduate job market, this is incredibly fast.
