We are a small, central agency in the public service responsible for lifting the quality of regulation. Better regulation - better outcomes.

In the onboarding process, MfR gave us graduates a great amount of training opportunities that helped us both ease our way into the Ministry's work, as well as better understand the mechanics of the agency. We did training modules on the public service, were hosted by different teams who explained their part in the Ministry, and also had the opportunity to go to Parliament for a couple public service workshops to help us contextualise our work. These workshops were valuable for helping me transition from university to actual work, and they've given me a toolkit for effectively applying my skills. However, they were quiet broad, and it still took a while to ease into the role itself. Along with this, we also did the Wall Walk, as well as visited the National Library to see Te Tiriti. These workshops were especially valuable opportunities to remind us of the wider environment and historical framework we're working within.
