In the one year and two months that I've been here, the career progression is very unclear and the promotion opportunities are unheard of. I am not sure what is next for me in this role in the company. It is not an issue of me underperforming, it's just that the career progression and promotion opportunities are uncharted.
My sector is quite niche so it is not as supported, my team often finds big barriers to get software since most is not approved and can be a long, cumbersome process to get everything set up at times.

Once you're out of the graduate program, line managers and other employers tend to check in with you on a quarterly basis. These check-ins offer a valuable opportunity to showcase recent work and discuss your salary expectations.
