Culture is pretty great, senior staff can be very approachable and helpful, I talk to my technical director very often and even with lighthearted jokes. My team is pretty friendly and understandable; it is relatively easy to befriend colleagues, the company is also willing to subsidise off hour sports and events, we have a social football team for example.
Although this is as expected, with the layoffs that engineering companies across NZ experienced last year/early this year. Culture is definitely on the rise again though.
Everyone is highly sociable and cooperative. The conversation among coworker of any levels is genuine and personable, people do want to know each other and build bonds beyond work. Mott Macdonald has also generously provided drinks and pizzas on a weekly / biweekly basis on top of social events to get coworkers to get to know more about each other.
