Currently, due to being in University, tasks are mostly upkeep and bugs, but when working full time, and in the off chance, I got to work on big pieces of work which would impact many customers.
At the start of my internship I was briefed on 2 projects I would complete during the internship. My primary day-to-day tasks involved working through the projects to their completion. The 2 projects I completed as part of my internship went on to both be used. My first project was used by my boss for a connectathon and the second went on to be included into a release.
My role is largely making the frontend more accessibility compliant, involving a mixture of development, writing tests, and code review.
As a graduate a lot of it is bug fixes and small improvements. There are also frequent meetings depending on the team.
Incredibly satisfied, i worked on meaningful projects like the investigation of the user analytics tool that the company has chosen to go forward and utilize in their products. I then moved to working on the codebase itself - fixing various bugs - before working on large feature improvements and make a notable impact.
