The opportunities should eventually come around, but as a graduate you are generally expected to do in the realm of 1-2 years on the programme and then you would move into a team full time. Your time in the programme doing rotations acts as extended interview in those teams.
A permanent role is guaranteed at the end of the graduate program; however, it may not be in what you actually want to do. You have to sort of wait for the right place, right time. Powerco does support you in getting a permanent role though and looks at your skills and where you might end up in two-years and tailors your program to that. They also always highlight that they are developing the future leaders.
I like the fact that there is a rotation system in which you go through different teams within the business to learn different skills, but also to discover what you actually enjoy doing. If there are positions available during your time as a grad, you are encouraged to apply, and many grads get a permanent role before their 2-year program finishes.
The way to promote is to apply for a role when it opens in a team which you like and apply like any regular person but there will be a huge advantage to applying as a graduate due to already having experience in that said team. The openings in teams are sometimes rare but opportunities still come up every now and then.
Yes, they do offer opportunities to move up the company, takes hard work and a keen interest on the role that is being offered.
