Regular trainings
RCP has implemented its own internal university, which is pretty much the go-to hub for learning and development. It started out as RCP Learning, but over time it’s grown into a full platform that supports professional growth for everyone, no matter their role. The idea is to have one place where you can find everything you need for training, mentoring, and career development. There’s a lot on offer - on-demand learning modules you can dive into anytime, weekly training sessions (like the Friday 11:00–12:00 slot), and specialized programs for things like mentoring, performance reviews, and career pathways. It also includes skill frameworks that line up with the project lifecycle, covering essentials like project management, leadership, IT tools like Power BI and SharePoint, and even cultural competency through Te Ao Māori workshops.
When starting, there was courses within 'RCP University' to attend. These provided a brief understanding of how to do things. We also have learning development videos (live, or can be watch later). These occur on the regular to help provide more information on a wide range of topics. These are recorded and stored within the RCP site for future use if needed.
It seems very much a learn on the job vibe. There are plenty of opportunities on the rcp SharePoint L&D area. However, some of these are very high level. The learning you get on the job is also limited to what you are exposed to on the project you are involved with
Fantastic internship programme.
