Workplace culture has also varied from site to site. I haven't experienced a negative, toxic or hostile workplace culture since I've started as a graduate here. I've found that people are very friendly as a whole and are always welcome to share knowledge and expertise where they can. In addition, I've found that inland the teams are quite young which has made socializing and meshing with colleagues more natural.
Depends on the team As it is a site based role there is not much socialising after work (12 hr days and then fly home after the swing) Some sites you do not feel included and feel like they don't want to teach a graduate, also very quiet offices Other sites, you feel very welcomed and appreciated and people are willing to teach you Hierarchy depends on the team, I feel some people feel threatened by graduates and want to assert their dominance, while others see you as equal
My team is personally very busy, but the culture in the team is great. It's a bit like a family in my team. For the most part people are happy to help out. I get along well with my colleagues. As graduates we catchup regularly and like to try organise events outside of work. You can't walk or drive past anyone on site without getting a wave or a g'day
Team is really good. Meet up on breaks with them as well.
