I work on an 8/6 roster and currently am able to be quite flexible for Perth based training, work, etc. such that I can fly up late or fly back early if needed. The main part is just having site coverage, so that we have personnel to support the site from each discipline's perspective.
Work an 8/6 roster with 96 hr fortnights on site No work from home as this is a site based role
Remote work is an option, however in my team it is less common as we are really needed on site. We work a 9 day fortnight, which means every second friday is off. That friday can be swapped to different days if required, which makes it quite flexible. If you work late some days, you can start late or leave early on others, and they are very accomodating if you need to duck out to a doctors appointment or something else. Overall they are quite happy to work around you.
8 days on, 6 days off. 12 hour shifts. But you come and leave early on flying days. Can work from home or in the city of required. Can bring laptop back home to do some extra work if needed.
