I wish there was more opportunity for international training such as conferences when you are still at a lower employment level however I have found opportunities to be declined for this reason. Other then that there are numerous opportunities including online training sessions, grad development, and as stated earlier, mentoring is highly recommended and accomodated.
I have found it difficult taking control of my own development, for the grad program I have been given some things, but not always the time to complete them. It is meant to be very self directed but I would have liked more hand holding in the first few months.
Training provided by company for required certifications (e.g. confined spaces).
We have regular grad/developing professional trainings where we are given advice on how to make the most of our career. All the grads are encouraged to get a mentor. There are lots of opportunities for both formal and informal mentoring which is good. External and internal trainings are offered. I have regular check-ins with my manager to have reviews of my performance and see how I'm tracking. With the grad programme, you have tasks you need to complete, these help you to develop as well.
