My role fluctuates a lot between procedural or strategic initiatives. This is the nature of software development which comes out in cycles. This means I'm either all in focused on a release and communication with out users, or brainstorming and using my own initiative to keep busy when out of these periods. This diversity is good. My dream would be for these two things to always feel balanced but I understand that can't be the case.
Working on both capability and maintenance on a legacy system means there is a mix of excited and boring work.
