Everyday is a bit different, I am either working on my assigned projects or assisting my colleagues with their work. There can be times as a grad, where your workload is low so make sure to ask for more if you are bored.
In my current role I am involved in the compliance of Watercare consents. I will either be in the office filling out spreadsheets, cleaning up data or out in the field getting DNA samples, or helping take birds with botulism to the vet. The work is varied and interesting, where you can feel that what you are doing is having a positive effect. My previous rotation I was mostly in the office, working on Watercare's responses to plan changes. This role was more long term planning, but the work we did was so key and important to ensure Watercare operates efficiently long term
Day-to-day tasks vary depending on project timelines and priorities. There are plenty of opportunities to sit in on meetings, contribute to projects, and even take the lead on my own initiatives, which keeps the work dynamic and engaging
This varies depending on the team I have been places in. Some teams have given me lots of good work to do, whilst other teams have not given me satisfying work
