Our environmental team does great work
Watercare has so many responsibilities and roles in providing ongoing services to Aucklanders, however, there is strong commitment to do things better and be more sustainable. I believe that everybody is trying and on the right path, and generally Watercare does a good job in being as sustainable as possible with the resources they have. I also think their commitment to fostering meaningful parterships with Māori is admirable.
As a water and wastewater infrastructure company, Watercare works hard to reduce its environmental impact. This is evident in the way we respond to infrastructure challenges, manage wastewater treatment, and implement sustainable practices. It’s clear that we are actively working to minimise environmental harm while ensuring reliable and efficient services for the community
Watercare has a commitment to sustainability in its infrastructure designs (incorporating mandatory carbon reductions in every infrastructure project). All aspects of our projects have sustainability considered. The vehicles in the Watercare pool fleet are mostly EV's as well.
