Environmental Responsibility We are dedicated to minimizing our environmental footprint and have committed to being a net-zero emissions business. Our carbon reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), ensuring our strategy is aligned with climate science. Our approach focuses on: Measuring and Reducing: We continuously measure our carbon footprint and have implemented initiatives to reduce emissions across our operations, focusing on energy efficiency in our offices and sustainable travel policies. Investing in Renewables: We are transitioning our offices to 100% renewable electricity. Carbon Removal: For emissions we cannot yet eliminate, we invest in high-quality, certified carbon removal projects. Social Impact Our social sustainability efforts are centered on empowering the communities we serve. Through our Xero for Good program, we focus on initiatives that improve digital and financial literacy, which are critical for the success of small businesses. This includes: Supporting Non-profits: We provide free or discounted Xero subscriptions to thousands of non-profit organisations around the world. Employee Volunteering: We offer paid volunteering leave for our employees to give back to causes they are passionate about. Community Partnerships: We partner with educational and community organisations to provide resources and support that help small businesses thrive. Governance and Transparency We believe in being accountable for our commitments. Our sustainability performance is integrated into our overall business strategy and we report on our progress publicly in our annual reports. This transparency ensures we remain focused on creating a lasting, positive impact for all our stakeholders and the planet.
I'm not entirely sure of Xero's commitment, though it is noted that they have recycling and compostable bins around the offices. Provided meals are served in crockery or in compostable containers which is nice to see. It would be great if the company ever wanted to shift to being B-certified as other companies are–down to what beverages and snacks they get into the office. I know people are curious to see more material/resources on Xero's take on their environmental impact with the use of AI
