The graduate programme offers us the ability to find out where we want to go in the business by giving us a broad understanding of the whole business. This provides the ability to have a deeper understanding of the whole business for whatever position we end up in. Moving up the ranks depends on the effort we put in and us signalling areas of interest that we want to pursue in our career. Z Energy provides opportunities to fulfil our aspirations through the support our own individual mentor, our people leader (manager), and the support and guidance of others across the organisation. There is also our own individual develop plan that we develop alongside our mentor and people leaders, aimed at helping set goals for our career.
We have a requirement to complete a year and a half in the graduate programme before we can move into a new role internally. Given that we typically only spend a few months in a team at most, I've found it difficult to make a real impact and prove myself enough to get an opportunity outside of the programme.
