There are so many different initiatives in place that ensure Z are focussed on New Zealand being more sustainable as we take the next steps into the future. There is a lot of effort being put in from each of the different teams so that they can reduce their environmental impact, helping New Zealand transition towards a more sustainable future. The Energy Solutions team is helping to lead the way with the environmental impact by offering New Zealand greater access to an electric charging system for cars across the Z network.
As a fuel company, Z is one of Aotearoa's largest contributors of carbon emissions - that's something you can't just write off. But having worked in the renewable part of our business (energy solutions), I've seen the investment and commitment to exploring alternative fuel and energy solutions. It's impressive, and it's very real. Our EV charging network, alongside initiatives in Biofuel, Hydrogen, battery technology, etc. bring this all to life. We acknowledge that this is where the future is and the modelling we're operating on suggests that this may become our core business one day.

There are a lot of efforts to become more sustainable throughout the business from Z's operations to day-to-day activities. For example, the EV that is available for employees to use during the day to get around to sites etc. There are also recycling bins around.
