Z isn't just a fuel company, it's a Kiwi company with a distinct personality. We are here to keep our communities and whānau moving. Z is for NZ.
As a graduate, you have access to buddies, mentors, and multiple development and reflection sessions. You are constantly encouraged to reflect and provide feedback on what you did well and what could be improved. There are plenty of opportunities for personal development, as you work with different people leaders throughout the various teams you rotate through, giving you access to a wide range of perspectives and feedback. Through the programme, I have become more confident in my communication, public speaking, and presentation skills to name a couple.
Z Energy has provided excellent training and development throughout the graduate programme. We started with a two week induction that gave us a high-level overview of the business, with presentations from nearly every team. This helped me understand how each part of the company contributes to Z Energy's overall goals and how the business operates as a whole. Once I joined my rotations, the training and coaching from each team were outstanding. Everyone was patient, supportive, and always willing to answer questions, which made it easy to learn new systems and build confidence. Over the past six months, I've developed stronger Excel skills, become more confident working with data and numbers, improved my analytical thinking, and gained experience using a variety of business systems. The graduate programme has also helped me develop softer skills. I've become more confident with public speaking through presentations and meetings, strengthened my communication and stakeholder management skills by working with people across the business, and had opportunities to develop my understanding and speaking ability of te reo M?ori through Z Energy's learning initiatives. I've also improved my problem-solving, collaboration, and time management skills while working across different teams and projects. I've also really valued the mentoring I've received. My mentors and people leaders have been approachable, encouraging, and generous with their time, providing regular feedback, career advice, and support. Their guidance has played a big role in both my professional development and my confidence as a graduate.
Great development opportunities and lots of chances to pick up new skills in areas you are interested in.
