During the first few weeks, our immediate leader provided an immersion plan that allowed us to explore and gain a deeper understanding of various processes within BU. Additionally, there are departmental campaigns, such as those from InfoSec, which I occasionally join. These initiatives have helped me broaden my knowledge and stay updated on best practices.
At the beginning of the year, the Learning & Development team would release courses/ trainings that are available. From there, you can choose which competency that you would like to enhance. At 2GO, we say "Hindi paramihan, pero palaliman" for the competency that you want to develop. We believe that if you focus on 1-2 things, you can deepen your understanding and be able to build a good foundation. I also have also great leaders where I can learn from, and they guide me while I also strengthen my skillset.
The training programmes in my role focus on understanding data protection principles, company policies, and compliance requirements. As an entry-level Data Protection Associate, I received onboarding training that helped me become familiar with data privacy regulations, internal processes, and documentation standards. My responsibilities include reviewing contracts to ensure compliance with data protection requirements and contributing to informative materials for internal dissemination, helping colleagues understand key data privacy practices. These tasks have strengthened my attention to detail, compliance knowledge, and communication skills. I quarterly receive performance feedback from my head, which guides my development and growth in the role.
I haven't received yet any formal training programs but the informal training where my supervisor did to us was the continuous coaching and monitoring is great since I am a fresh graduate adjusting in working field. I was able to pick up new skills such as Excel skills which I didn't learn during school days.
