Every day, I work closely with my team leader and team representative, who assign me tasks. My daily responsibilities involve coordinating with them, completing the tasks efficiently, and ensuring everything aligns with team goals.
As a student engineer, my workload is currently light, which gives me time to learn and gradually adjust. At the moment, I’m working with the Energy team, where they are teaching me how to aggregate cables. In the first few weeks, we mainly had introductory meetings with various engineering teams to help us understand what each group does. We also attended soft skills training sessions covering topics like communication, confidence-building, and stress management. After these sessions, we were given the opportunity to choose which team we wanted to focus on, and from there, the team began training us on their specific tasks and responsibilities.
All of our tasks, especially the daily sessions, have been very beneficial and have provided us with additional learning opportunities. These experiences allow us to build not only our theoretical knowledge but also practical skills that we can apply in real-world situations. It’s a valuable chance to grow both personally and professionally.
My role involved attending sessions across various engineering disciplines, which gave me broad exposure to the field. Day-to-day tasks included participating in hands-on activities, team projects, and technical discussions, all of which helped deepen my understanding and practical skills.
