I have a few day-to-day tasks and a variety of non-day-to-day tasks. My daily work activities would be more similar to database maintenance and uploads and monitoring, as well as general procurement administrative work. My non-day-to-day tasks can be a lot of different things like costing, price analysis, claims, awarding, supplier relations, negotiations and issues resolution.
My 1st rotation is in procurement. My day-to-day task are mostly composed of supplier meetings and internal alignments with the project team that can cover your whole calendar for most of the days. In a general perspective, it might look boring, but every meeting has different agendas and almost every week there are new issues popping left and right. It requires you to be attentive and to have a record on the sequence of events to properly monitor and back track the issue you've experience and is experiencing. Although the role's main focus is to ensure supply, there are many factors to consider when deciding. It's really a flexible role that some may consider overwhelming but with proper training and ensuring tracking of events, one can work around the busy routine of my role.
I coordinate with suppliers to meet with procurement related activities to ensure that new and old projects have materials, parts, and tooling required.
Can say it's balanced. There are days where I am busy and times, I am looking to do something more. I can say that every day is productive and challenges you to do better than yesterday.
