At Dyson we are focused on solving the problems that others have ignored; solving them first using our technology and ingenuity.
The graduate program offers a lot of exposure to projects that are happening. This taught me many different things because of the fast-paced work environment from things as specific as price analysis to more generalist skills like stakeholder management.
As graduates, we have training programs and seminars that can help us create our own frameworks on how we should proceed with our careers. Most of them motivational sessions but there are those that really provide methods on how to improve ourselves. Unfortunately, most those methods are for soft skill development that can help project management and overall socialization. Coaching wise, we have local mentor that can guide us on the technical aspect our roles.
Technical training is gated by the availability of the mentor. If the mentor is busy, they cannot train you. There are supplementary training available for soft skills and development opportunities. We also have performance feedback from stakeholders.
The opportunity of being here is great because there are several learning modules focusing on graduates' growth as a professional. Not only that, but my Line Manager is very kind to extend mentorship in navigating the workplace. Both of these training and performance mentoring are both very helpful as these are strong foundations in building myself professionally.
