The company is very focused on sustainability WITHIN the plant. However, it is ironic that AI is a very big part of the company's operations given the unsustainable nature of generative AI.
I forgot the exact measures that they took in terms of the way they produce our products but as far as I could remember, they started using fuel alternatives to lessen the environmental impact of their processes. We also have guidelines for aircon and water usage. Moreover, we have guidelines for food waste.
In the office, there are big windows that let natural light in. Often, some areas in the office do not need additional light, unless it's necessary. The pantry also usually keeps its lights closed until someone uses it, but turns the lights off after. Meeting rooms also have their air conditioners closed until someone uses the room, but switches them off when no one else will use it for the day. Aside from this, monde nissin also avoids the use of unnecessary paper and plastics. For instance, during career fairs, all of the application materials are digitized. No paper brochures are provided, nor do they accept physical copies of resumes. These are all efforts to ensure that monde nissin adheres to its sustainability initiative.
I have a limited knowledge in terms of my company's sustainability practices, but i knew that we try to lessen our environmental footprint by utilizing and repurposing scraps, joining environmental drives, trying to reduce the use of plastics, and just recently, the use of electric vehicles.
