My role is basically managing the automation bots. Day-to-day, that means monitoring them, making sure that they run smoothly, and checking if there are any issues that need to be fixed.
As of now, as a Graduate Associate or new hire, task are not overwhelming. With that being said, the culture shock from being a student and transition to new hire is not immense. I find it quite helpful since my role is Software Quality Engineering Trainee and I first think that work and day-to-day task are in huge amount, but I was wrong, they give guides and instructions on the day-to-day task and also for my work role which gives me the opportunity to be more productive and not tired and overwhelm.
My day-to-day tasks involves creating test cases if needed, analyzing the requirements document/design documents we have on sharepoint, test automation and/or manual automation of our test cases. Raise defects/bugs found while testing. Raise immediate concerns that could affect our testing. Check JIRA board for tickets moved to "Ready for Testing" status and retest them. After that, make sure that qTest and JIRA board i updated.
