The company's culture in the office is vibrant while serious. Most of the time people are focusing on their work and the deadlines they need to meet. But we can station ourselves practically anywhere in the building, so, sometimes we work in different places for a change in venue. Small talks, coffee runs, and snack breaks are also encouraged to promote decompression - while promoted, we don't do it that often during the day because there's lots of work to do. Most of the time I work beside my boss, not because he needs to keep a close eye on me, but so that I can ask a question any time and get instant feedback. I've built good rapport with him to a point that I don't feel intimidated or scared approaching him anymore. And because of this relationship, I feel more confident in reaching out to other employees in higher positions - even the CEO tells us to address him by his first name. I don't get to hang out with my colleagues outside of work because I'm still a student and need to attend to school requirements. But I've always been invited to go on different activities with my co-workers, like karaoke, hiking, board games, and even clubbing! I guess since the people Unilever employs are those who are generally smart with a good sense of work ethic, it's easy to rely on them inside and outside of the office.
