I don't think they absorb interns at all
After the internship program, there are absorption opportunities that may possibly open. Since the internship stint is kind of like a training ground, specially for HR, to really get to know the process and be familiar with the culture of the company, I'd say that their current internship program is really a good start to transition from a school set up to a corporate set up. Since there is a current structure, it's easier for graduating students or people in their early careers to navigate what kind of careers they want to have or which path to pursue.
For me is not, first is for now there's no promotion ahead. To fulfil career aspirations, diba if you know that person is need some improvement, that's your focus. I know to my selves i need some trainings but for now there's no scheduled training. I already asked but no budget daw. then seeing some of your teammates is attending training. There's a little growing bec of the different to my past company but not that big.
