Allison Transmission is a global leader in the design and manufacture of commercial vehicle transmissions.
Office culture has always struggled there, but it makes it worse when in-office days are chosen by a man who wouldn’t recognize culture if it were put in front of his face in a Clorox package. The people in the pit are the ones driving day-to-day work for teams and are then told, on top of that, to help fix office culture through awkward happy hours and forced group conversations. No one now views Allison as creative or strategic because you have the most non–culturally relevant people at the helm.
Talented and nice group of people
They try to foster camaraderie through office happy hours/summer outings/holiday parties and PTO can be taken without pushback. Allison used to feel like a more intimate company when original leadership was in charge.
