My experience at Tallgrass ultimately highlighted a major disconnect between what leadership says about employee support and what actually happens when someone needs it. The situation eventually escalated to the point where it had to be reviewed externally. A small amount of communication, empathy, or willingness to work with an employee could have prevented the entire situation.
