Upper management didn't pay attention.
Solid clients, mixed leadership, revolving door. Wasn't thrilled with a sudden C-Suite leadership swap and then inevitable layoffs - particularly with the way it was handled... incredibly poorly. There are indeed office politics and favoritism at play. At the time (maybe it has improved), the client budget management process was generally a mess with every single team I found myself on. Their time tracking software was inexcusably poor and massively time consuming. There was a big push for AI right as I was leaving - not sure how that has unfolded, but if you're allergic to AI like I am, you should keep that in mind. Many clients are big, massive, money printing corporations. There are some pretty morally questionable clients across all sectors. I asked to be excused from NBD pitches and certain clients more than once because of this.
Post merger into Burson support staff HR didn’t know what our jobs were and were not interested in helping people who wanted to move up or potentially explore other in Burson or other WPP agencies so I left.
Cool client accounts -Knowledgeable senior employees.
