The firm is a very diverse workplace that encourages inclusivity and hires across various different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Promotion opportunities appear to be equally available to all people regardless of their background.
In my experience with my employer, I have noticed a genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion, especially in recruitment and team composition. Our hiring processes actively seek candidates from a variety of backgrounds, and I see a mix of cultures, genders, and experiences represented across different departments. There are also regular training sessions and open discussions about equity and inclusion, which help foster a welcoming environment. Additionally, I’ve observed that opportunities for advancement and professional development are accessible to everyone, which encourages retention and growth for employees from all backgrounds.
The firm is leading for female representation in its representation. There is a dedicated Pro Bono team to ensure the firm does meaningful work and observes diversity and inclusion in all of its work. There is a dedicated cultural inclusivity team 'All at Ashurst' that regularly runs cultural awareness social events, e.g, recently an event on Japanese culture and working with Japanese client which featured Japanese food, and recently an event with Indigenous made chocolates and biscuits on Indigenous culture awareness.
