There are many formal training sessions targeted at graduates that develop our expertise using the various firm systems and across different areas of the law. There are also team specific trainings that focus on the specific area of law completed within the team that allows for a greater understanding of that area of work. Additionally, graduates have feedback sessions every two months with their supervisors to get feedback and determine areas in which they can improve. Overall, the training and development opportunities are quite comprehensive.
The firm places a strong emphasis on continuous learning and professional development. Upon joining, new employees typically participate in a comprehensive induction programme that covers both technical skills relevant to their role and an introduction to the company’s values and culture. Beyond the initial onboarding, there are regular training sessions, workshops, and seminars designed to keep employees up to date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
Graduates are given formal 'Activate' training program sessions hosted throughout the year. Further, during each 3 x 4 month rotation, the specific practice group will also host their own practice group. Further, practice groups host 'CLE' Continued Legal Education sessions - these are also hosted by the firm's sectors / groups - thus a collaboration between multiple practice groups of the firm. Graduates have mid-rotation feedback and end of rotation appraisals for each rotation to ensure continuous development. Informal coaching mentoring is encouraged with the firm willingly expensing coffees for mentoring catch ups internally.
