I think the pay is competitive however the bonuses, gifts, subscription, and other tax benefits are better in the private sector. However, our work life balance tends to be far better.
The pay rate is very accommodating for a Graduate Role, with a significant increase upon completion of the Graduate Program adds an extra sense of security. I have also greatly appreciated the amount of personal leave we are entitled to, as well as the 'flex time' that is provided in the APS.
