As the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, I feel like we do not do enough to reduce environmental impact. Especially because the department encourages the use of generative AI by staff, which is notorious for its negative impact on the environment with the mass amounts of water and energy it uses.
We have multiple avenues of recycling (including coffee cups, 10c bottle/can collection, food scraps) and receive monthly reports on how our office is doing in comparison to other offices in the building.
