Most of my training is on-the-job style rather than formal training. One notable training opportunity was my section running an 'interview awareness' training to improve interviewing skills (which was relevant for the section and some areas in the broader division). The theory portion was very well-run and the practical portion provided us with the opportunity to role-play as if we were actually interviewing someone, which was very helpful.
My training opportunities have been primarily role-based training. I have had access to coaching sessions (3 available sessions over the year) and have been subject to a performance agreement where i received feedback at the 3 month and 6 month mark. I've developed and honed skills in time management, stakeholder engagement, and utilised a variety of programs to complete brief writing
For the first few months, there is a training session every few weeks. HR grad program contains 4 sessions over a year and a project at the end of the year. I also had the opportunity to attend the National AHRI conference, which was an amazing opportunity for a grad. My mentors are wonderful, both in the department and through AHRI.
