Long process, but very friendly
The first step was an invitation to a virtual interview, which involved recording yourself and answering questions. If successful the next step is a casual phone call and then an online interview that went for an hour.
Overall, I found the interview process to be straightforward and easy to navigate. However, it was quite lengthy. From submitting my application through to the recorded interview and then the live interview, the process took around six months, with relatively little communication throughout. That said, BAE Systems provided more communication and updates than many of the other companies I applied to. Once I progressed to the interview stages, the questions were clear, easy to understand, and relevant to the role. I felt comfortable answering them, although this was helped by the preparation I had done beforehand. Overall, while the process was time-consuming, it was well structured and gave me a good opportunity to demonstrate my skills and suitability for the role.
Because I was an intern first I did not have to go through the recruitment process again as my internship was the trial for the grad role. So the contract was sent through.
